alloClae New York City

Introduction to alloClae

Creating smoother, more balanced body contours does not always require implants or a traditional fat transfer. For patients who want to add volume to areas such as the breasts, buttocks, or hip dips, alloClae offers another option using donor-derived adipose tissue without the need to harvest fat through liposuction.

At William Lao Plastic Surgery in New York City, Dr. William Lao uses alloClae as a highly customizable approach to volume restoration and body contouring. Treatment can be tailored to refine specific areas, improve asymmetries or contour irregularities, and create proportions that complement the patient’s natural anatomy. For patients who may not have enough donor fat for traditional fat grafting, alloClae can also open the door to treatment that otherwise may not have been possible.

What Is alloClae?

AlloClae is donor fatty tissue that can be used to restore subtle volume to numerous areas of the body. This cutting-edge body-contouring treatment can create balanced proportions and elegantly sculpted contours, and its results look and feel incredibly natural.

AlloClae can be injected to address irregularities after liposuction, fill in hip dips, or enhance the buttocks. It can also be used to increase breast volume, enhance cleavage, correct breast asymmetries, fill in irregularities in the breast contours, or correct rippling after breast augmentation with implants.

Traditional procedures that utilize the body’s own fat require liposuction to harvest the fatty tissue. Since alloClae uses donor fat instead, no liposuction is required, making it a completely non-surgical process.

AlloClae is thicker than natural fat, allowing it to be used to create new volume more effectively. The amount that lasts after treatment has been seen to be comparable with traditional fat transfer. Because of this, results last, and there is less need to overfill areas during treatment.

The Science Behind alloClae

AlloClae is an injectable product made up of fat cells from donors who have been exhaustively screened to avoid any transference of infectious diseases or microorganisms. The fat is purified to reduce DNA and remove any potentially harmful components, reducing the risk of rejection and allergic reactions.

Along with this purified fat, alloClae contains triglycerides (lipids), connective tissues, and extracellular matrix (ECM). The proteins in the ECM include glycoproteins, elastins, and collagens.

After alloClae has been injected, it incorporates into the surrounding tissue, where its extracellular matrix supports your body’s growth of new blood vessels and natural fatty tissue. This ensures longer-lasting results.

Who Are the Best Candidates for alloClae?

Most patients are good candidates for alloClae. If you’re looking for a minimally invasive way to restore volume, you’re an excellent candidate for alloClae.

Patients who want to improve the size of their breasts without getting breast implants are perfect alloClae candidates. This option creates natural augmentation comparable to a fat transfer to the breasts.

When patients don’t have a great deal of excess body fat, they’re poor candidates for a traditional fat transfer procedure. However, this makes them fantastic candidates for alloClae, since it’s performed using donor fat instead of the patient’s own fat. Patients who are poor candidates for liposuction are also great alloClae candidates.

If you have any of the following issues, discuss them with Dr. Lao during your consultation:

  • A history of anaphylaxis
  • An active skin infection
  • Severe allergen sensitivities

AlloClae is specifically used for body treatments. If you’re looking to improve facial volume, it’s best to undergo a fat transfer procedure or filler injection instead.

The Consultation

Before a date can be set for your alloClae treatment, you’ll need to meet with Dr. Lao for a consultation at our New York City clinic. At our facility:

  • You’ll share your aesthetic goals with Dr. Lao. You and Dr.Lao will review your medical history, including allergies, previous procedures, underlying medical conditions, and current medications.
  • Dr. Lao will perform a thorough physical examination, and photographs may be taken to serve as a reference.
  • Dr. Lao will design a treatment plan and take you through the steps of the process from start to finish. Please feel free to ask questions at any point.

What to Expect During an alloClae Treatment Session

AlloClae treatments can be safely performed at our office. The amount of time required to perform these treatments will depend on the size and number of treatment areas. Generally, alloClae treatment sessions take less than an hour to perform.

At the start of the procedure, local anesthesia is administered to numb the treatment area. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, very tiny incisions are made. A blunt-tip cannula is inserted into an incision, and then small droplets of alloClae are injected evenly with great precision and care.

Can alloClae Be Combined with Other Procedures?

Since alloClae is a relatively new innovation, its compatibility with other procedures and treatments hasn’t been fully studied. Due to this, any pairings will be performed with great care at the discretion of Dr. Lao. Options can be discussed during your consultation.

alloClae Recovery

After your alloClae treatment session, you’ll be able to return to your everyday activities in only one to two days. Swelling, bruising, and soreness may be present in the targeted areas. These issues will be temporary and will fade over the course of one to two weeks.

The cost of alloClae in New York varies from patient to patient. Factors that can influence the total price of alloClae treatment include the amount of volume being added, the size and number of areas being addressed, and the patient’s cosmetic goals.
